This awesome wall was built by a reader named Jospeh. He wrote: "I used Google Sketchup to make a quick image of what was in my head for the wall so that I could show some of my buddies. Although I did
make some changes. The overhang ended up being on the left side of the
wall and I decided to have two different inclines, besides the
vertical section on the left corner of the wall. The incline below the
overhang is 22.5 degrees, and the incline on the right side of the
wall which matches the top of the overhang is 31.62 degrees.
I ran into some problems with symmetry, as you can probably see in the
pictures, since some of the rafters and studs in my garage were not
spaced evenly, which I found rather strange. This caused some of the
other parts on the wall to not be completely symmetric, but nothing to
compromise the structural integrity of it. There are also some extra
2x4's that I bolted on to add some support for the inclines to make
sure the wall won't budge." Very nice wall and exellent use of Google Sketchup for planning.
